Several years ago organizers of the event decided to conduct The Genoese Helmet Reconstruction Festival in two stages – in July and August. The program of the festival changes from year to year, but atmosphere of a medieval town still remains unchanged. All willing participants are busy forging knight armor, practicing horse riding, sew medieval dresses, and train in fencing. Numerous visitors can observe knight marching together with their armor-bearers, and unhurried walks of medieval ladies.
The walls of this medieval town become filled with sounds of whistling arrows, clanking swords, and roars of cannonade. Horses are prancing rapidly, battles are raging where reenactors show their skills on fencing, shoot arbalest and bows. Tourists and audience watch knight tournaments and take their turns to make photographs with these guys dressed in knight armor. The Festival would probably be not so interesting without its regular participants – historical fencing club members, professional stunts, historical reenactment clubs, and those people who are fans of military art and crafts.
